"Virgil Murray's ability to make history come alive is fascinating. I appreciate his writing style and thorough knowledge of his subject. His magazine article on Warren Earp was my inspiration to do a novel on that character."

In 1995 Murray was retained to do research on Doc Holliday's adventures in Texas by an author in Arizona. The author was impressed with Murray's work and showed it to the editor of The Tombstone Epitaph who in turn requested Murray to do an article on the same subject for his magazine. As a result Murray was first published in The Tombstone Epitaph in March 1995. He has made several contributions to that publication since.
He was later contacted by the editor of Wild West Magazine and asked to submit a short story to them. Murray was fascinated by the life of Warren Earp , the youngest of the Earp Brothers of the Tombstone , Arizona fame , and submitted a short story to them. The story appears in the April 1998 issue of that magazine. Murray's short story was put on the Wild West Magazine's website.
To improve his writing skills, Murray became a member of the Cedar Creek Writers Guild. In 1999 he was elected president of that organization , a position he still holds. In that same year, at his encouragement, the guild published it's first book of short stories "Pages From Life". Copies are available by sending $9.00 to:
